Ben Bazán

Ben is an actor, writer, director, and improviser who was raised in Rio Grande City, Texas and relocated to Austin in 2008 to attend the University of Texas. He graduated in 2012 and received his B.A. in Theatre and Dance. Ben acted in several main stage productions throughout his time there and most recently was seen as “Andres” in the bilingual premiere of Salt and Pepper at ZACH Theatre (B. Iden Payne Award Nominee: Outstanding Performer in Theater for Youth).

During the Summer of 2012 he decided to take classes at the ColdTowne Conservatory, and he hasn’t looked back since. He has performed with his graduating class Powerball, the student troupe Bear Derby, a two person with his best friend called Instant Classic, and Silent Letters. He also been been involved in several main stage productions at CT: Slam Team Six, Late Night Down, and the Organ Trail (currently; every Saturday in October). He most recently directed/produced You Are Cordially Invited…, a special one night only wedding event.

In addition to performing, Ben has worked as a teaching artist with the Paramount Story Wranglers, taught literacy and diversity programs for Creative Action, and has served as an acting/playwriting teacher for the Performing Arts School at ZACH Theatre. During the daytime you can find him working as an Apprentice Guide at Acton Academy where he gets to hangout with some pretty cool kids.
