Jon Bolden is a instructor, and improvisational actor living in Austin, TX. He teaches improv at The Hideout Theatre and The State Theatre School of Acting. He can be seen performing weekly at ColdTowne Theater with the award-winning comedy group, Bad Boys, with Roy Janik as Squirrel Buddies or directing productions such as Manhattan Stories: Improvised Woody Allen or Nothing and Everything: Anton Chekhov inspired Original Plays.
In 2015, Jon he had the honor of receiving two B.Iden Payne Awards for Outstanding Direction in an improvised production and Outstanding Production.
After studying theater from Marietta College in Ohio, Jon moved to Austin in 2006, bringing his theatrical passion to the city’s booming improv scene. In 2010, he had the honor of studying with Keith Johnstone, one of the founding fathers of modern improvisational theory. Since then, Jon has taught specialized workshops on improvisation in Alaska, Tokyo, Osaka, Seattle, Oklahoma, Ohio, Rhode Island, Washington DC, and Houston. He is one of the co-producers of The Out of Bounds Comedy Festival, Austin’s oldest and largest comedy festival.
