These camps contain a significant movement component, engaging kids in both high energy creation and thoughtful storytelling. With a high student to teacher ratio and focus on having fun and creating together, these camps are a great early performing arts experience.
What’s more fun than making each other laugh all day, both onstage and off? Listening, collaborating, & creating comedy for ourselves and audiences is incredibly rewarding. A focus on saying “yes, and” to one another’s ideas, flexible thinking and developing tools to communicate ideas gives students the ability to shape their stories and their comedy. Improv, Sketch and Stand Up for enthusiastic young performers, writers and comedy fans. Camps are open to all levels of experience.These camps invite kids to begin focusing on performance skills, developing a command of comedic concepts and collaborating to create original work. Most of all, it’s super fun.
Improv, Sketch and Stand Up taught by some of Austin’s funniest people. Collaborative and focused, this is an opportunity for experienced comics to hone their craft and for beginners to have an awesome performing arts experience. Camps are open to all levels and backgrounds, descriptions will note when prior training is required for any specific camp. Middle and High School students enroll for the same camps, but are grouped according to experience and interests.
